Book Report & Giveaway - Full Steam Ahead, by Karen Witemeyer

Welcome to the era of exploding steam boats, heirloom daggers, business feuds, and handsome shipping heirs. Karen Witemeyer packs it all into her latest and greatest novel, with the familiar voice of her romantic stories.

When love simmers between a reclusive scientist and a wealthy debutante, will they abandon ship or is it full steam ahead?

I enjoyed the creative setting for this novel. Steamboats exploding and taking people's lives is the main thrust behind Darius Thornton's mission to stop another disaster. It was fun learning about the time of the steam engine and shipping kingdoms. I had no idea exploding boats was a relatively common occurrence. Intriguing ...and deadly.

Nicole wants to save her father's shipping company and provide him with a son-in-law to be his heir. She's determined, brave, and the epitome of a daddy's girl and I appreciated her desire to take care of her aging father. Add in a family dagger, well-coveted by their rival business enemies, and Nicole is on the run for her life and a man who will save not only her family but the dagger.

It's a fun read and won't disappoint Witemeyer fans. It's the story they've come to love and expect and is worthy of a summer night's read.

What's your favorite Karen Witemeyer book of all time? Or haven't you read her novels yet? Answer for a chance to win! (US Residents only)

  1. The only one I've read, so far, is "Head in the Clouds" which I really enjoyed. I have some of her others on my Kindle, guess I'd better get crackin'. ;)
