Book Report and Giveaway: Silenced, by Dani Pettrey

Silenced by Author Dani Pettrey
Well, you all know my insatiable love for any book written by the hand of Dani Pettrey. And she's written book #4 with a flourish and the same excitement riddled plot!
In SILENCED, Book 4 of author Dani Pettrey’s award-winning Alaskan Courage series, a relaxing day of rock climbing takes a dark turn when Kayden McKenna’s route brings her face-to-face with a dead climber. Was the climber’s death a terrible accident or something more sinister?
When the case is handed to Yancey’s overburdened sheriff, he turns to Jake Westin for help. With the truth of Jake’s past now revealed, Jake agrees to use his investigation skills for this one case–but nothing could prepare him for where the case will take him.
As Kayden and Jake work together to uncover the truth, will they also find a refuge in each other?  Or will the deadly plans of a killer destroy their chance at love?
I can't share any spoilers, although I'd LOVE to. I can promise the tension you've been waiting for between Jake and Kayden is totally there. The plot was fantastic, along with the climbing theme that ran through book like the fingerprints from climbing chalk. AND you get to go to Cole & Bailey's wedding, so if you're a loyal Pettrey fan this will be a fun culmination of your romantic meanderings. The McKenna siblings have reunited in another story of murder, revenge, love, and faith all harnessed together and clipped by a romantically red caribiner.
And I'm so addicted that I'm already looking forward to book number five! So for fun, Book 5 will be Reef McKenna's story, Kayden's brother. I think the title will be one of my top 10 picks ;):
1. Shadowed
2. Swept
3. Shaded
4. Sifted
5. Stopped
6. Slipped
7. Sobered
8. Sparked
9. Slanted
10. Smashed (well, that one might be weird.
Ok, so maybe mine are all wrong, but the cover art and full title will be revealed in Dani’s Bethany House Book Banter on Facebook, May 23, 2014. Watch the Bethany House Facebook Events Page for more details

  1. Well, from your list I will choose "Smashed" because I think it's just plain funny! :) My personal choice would be "Subdued".

Anne, is "Sheesh" your title of choice?

Sigh, I just love Dani Pettrey's books. So good.

  5. I like the sounds of Subdued. I was wondering if maybe you are pushing for sifted, since you listed it twice. ;-)

    1. LOL I totally did NOT see Sifted listed twice. It was supposed to read "Stopped". That's what I get for writing blog posts late at night :)

  6. I'm going with SIFTED, because I too saw it twice in an earlier post. Must be important or a subconscious favorite!
