  3. I usually spend New Year's Eve at home watching TV/movies, online, reading, snacking on delicious treats, etc.. Last year I spent most of the Seekerville New Year's Eve 21 hour party online with them - think I won at least one prize also.

It was there, just before midnight when Keli Gwyn was hosting, I connected with Annie (Just Commonly) who made a comment in idle conversation (which turned out to be a signal/blessing from God) re wanting to attend a get-together geared to readers and with the opportunity to meet/socialize with their favorite authors, learning more about them and their writing. This was a vision God had given me almost 4 years ago. The rest is history - after prayers by both Annie and I, she agreed to plan the first CFRR (Christian Fiction Readers Retreat) with me. Another signal/blessing from God led me within the next few days to Carrie Booth Schmidt - who actually had been a part of tentative plans for a get-together with mainly authors and a few bloggers (which wasn't working out as planned). She felt our request for her to join with us in planning a retreat was an answer to her prayers-we know it was an answer to ours!!

Prayer groups were organized for CFRR - God led and provided for our every need each step of the way in the planning and execution of CFRR, so it goes without saying CFRR was a huge success. One of the best days of my life, and one in which I was humbled, blessed, inspired, encouraged, and overjoyed by the responses by both authors and readers attending re the blessings, inspiration, and encouragement they received from CFRR. My theme for CFRR was "Honoring God Through Christian Fiction" - it was a spiritual event as well as a book event, His presence there was felt. It was a thank you to authors from readers and also a thank you to God for His gift of Christian Fiction and it's authors. I'm grateful to Him for blessing me and giving me the strength, through serious health issues, to be a part of CFRR!!

New Years Eve holds a special significance for me now-Annie, Carrie, and I are in the midst of plans for the 2017 CFRR - some of which will be revealed on our Facebook Christian Fiction Readers Retreat page on January 2nd. Carrie and I will also be hosting the Seekerville New Years Eve party from 8-9 p.m. this Sat., Dec. 31st, and giving away a beautiful CFRR tote bag filled with books and other treats.

Thanks for your giveaway opportunity, Erica - I'd love to have a copy of "My Heart Belong in Fort Bliss, Texas"!!
