Coffee I.V.

It's 11:50 p.m. and I should be in bed, but I've been swept into a great novel. Tomorrow I'll need a coffee I.V. (that's intravenous--not Roman numeral) to function!

I'm reading Kristen Heitzmann's The Breath of Dawn. It--is---so---good. I've been HOOKED, I'm running with the line, and I'm sinking into it's pages! I've been up past my bedtime for the third night in a row! I'd be done with it if it weren't for daily life requirements--and the fact that I'm purposely pacing myself so that it will last longer.

I plan to write a review in January, so stay posted. Or, better yet, put it on your Christmas list!!

So, what books are you reading now, or read recently that kept you up past your bedtime?

  1. I am reading two books right now: The Tutor's Daughter by Julie Klassen (love her books!) and The Irish Healer by Nancy Herriman (first book I've read by her).

I don't always read two books at once, but one is on my Kindle and one is sitting on my nightstand. :) I actually had a third book going on my iPod, but I finished it. This month is clear of reviews, so I'm trying to read some of the books that have been on my TBR list.

  2. Ladette, I have read The Irish Healer ~ great book, great author! My first read by her, too. I am waiting for The Tutor's Daughter ~ love everything by Julie Klassen!

What book am I reading? My one Christmas book left, not wanting to post it in January!!, is Amy Clipston's A Kauffman Amish Christmas Collection: A Plain and Simple Christmas & Naomi's Gift. I am in the second chapter and looking forward to reading more later this evening. Today is my volunteer all day at our community library which I enjoy. Kathleen

  4. Two books in the last month kept me AWAKE!!
I read Joanne Bischof's Be Still My Soul in 2 shots, mostly because I fell asleep. I was in Bolivia and had pretty bad altitude sickness and was ordered to bed. Me and Lonnie made friends. Then about 2 or 3 weeks ago, I read Bonnie Grove's Talking to the Dead in 5 1/2 hours of straight reading. Non-stop.

I'm actually hosting Bonnie on the 17th on my blog and Joanne on the 20th, come visit and say hello. And thank you Anne and Jaime for allowing me to mention that wee tidbit.

  5. I haven't read either of these Jennifer! I'll have to add them to my TBR pile and hop over to see you on the 17th. The 17th, incidentally, is our 24th anniversary. So, I might be a little late! :)

  6. I just finished The Last Coyote by Michael Connelly. A. Maze. Ing. Love it. I think it's my favorite Harry Bosch novel...that and Nine Dragons. That one was pretty epic too. :)
